‘Our TfL journey began in October when we were initially introduced to the programme. This entailed coming up with an innovation to improve how TfL provide their services. We decided to increase the reliability of the railway network by reducing the delays caused by signal failures on the track- this idea got us to the finals. Although we didn’t win, we were lucky enough to be given the opportunity to complete two weeks of work experience within the company. Four of us spent time with engineers, learning about Crossrail 2 and signalling systems; the rest of us spent time in technology and data, creating an app to improve disabled access on buses.

Overall, we had an invaluable experience and gained a lot of useful skills and knowledge that will benefit us in the future world of work.’
