Students from JFS, JCOSS and Yavneh participated in the annual Model United Nations this week.

This year the event was hosted at Yavneh College and we want to thank Mr Webb for organising and co-ordinating the event.

 

Year 8 Faraday Challenge

A group of Year 8 students were chosen to work as engineers racing against the clock to solve a real-life engineering problem from the Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management (IHEEM).

CyberFirst Challenge

The CyberFirst challenge is a nationwide competition, where girls navigate through challenges spanning cryptography, logic, artificial intelligence, and networking. At Yavneh, we had over 30 students competing against other schools to try and be the cyber security champions. The competition isn’t over yet, so good luck to them all!

West Herts College Careers Assembly (Year 11)

Year 11s had an assembly this morning run by West Herts College talking to students about the different post-16 options available at West Herts and talking about what College life is like.

Lives not Knives (Virtual Reality workshop)

A small group of Year 7 students took part in a pilot workshop run by two members of the local police (CCE Prevention and Diversion Team) as part of their work within the community.

Its core objectives are to educate young people aged 10-16 on social issues such as gang culture and knife crime, and aims to reduce youth crime, youth violence and child criminal exploitation.

Mock Assessment Centre

Year 13 students participated in a Mock Assessment Centre today run by ASK (Apprenticeship Support Knowledge). This was an opportunity for students to learn about the nature of a (group) interview which is a common element of any apprenticeship application.

Mock Apprenticeship Interviews

We were delighted to welcome several alumni and business leaders to come into school today run a series of one on one mock interviews with our Year 13 students who are considering applying for an Apprenticeship.
