Apprenticeship Evening – Jan 30th 2020

Over 80 Year 12 students and parents attended this year’s Apprenticeship Evening which included a number of presentations.
Mr Kendler began the evening explaining the nature of what an Apprenticeship actually entails and the benefits and opportunities which come with it.
Zak Isaacs (current year 13 student) then spoke about his own experience of applying for Apprenticeships and why this is his post-18 pathway of choice.
Three alumni students who are all currently completing apprenticeships then spoke about their experience. These include representation from GSK, the Civil Service and ATOS.
Finally, two of our parents spoke about the advantages and experiences of the Apprenticeship route offered at Adler Shine.

Year 12 Poland Reflection Evening

To coincide with International Holocaust Memorial Day our year 12 students organised a Poland reflection evening for students, staff and parents.

The evening included moving accounts of each day of the trip, poetry readings, reflections, prayers, candle lighting and music.

It was an extremely powerful evening and our thanks go to Mrs Jacobson for organising the evening and of course to Mr Lewis and Rabbi Davis for leading the trip itself.

JSOC: Getting Involved at University

Year 13 heard from six alumni today about their campus activism in both JSoc and other organisations. They told the students how much they’d gained from being involved and why they recommended being involved in any way they can. They also focussed on their Jewish identity on campus and why they felt so connected.

It was wonderful to hear from past students and their contribution to the community is something that made us as teachers very proud.
