Year 9 had a careers assembly today run by a Lauren Christy (Talent Manager, Elstree Studios) who spoke to the students about the huge range of creative industries and apprenticeship pathways within TV and film production.
Chai Tsen (Hertfordshire Police) delivered an assembly this morning to Year 7 about cyber security and how to protect ourselves from cyber fraud/scams
An integral part of the course are mini scenarios, where we recreate real life situations to allow the children to be prepared for the wider world.
The Course also involves physical activity based on the principles of Krav Maga. A key element of the course is to instil self-discipline into the participants, so that they know only to use their knowledge of Krav Maga as the last resort in order to defend themselves.
Today Year 12 had a special assembly with MDA UK learning about their role in Israel and various gap year schemes.
Over twenty year 12 students began their First Aid training course today with Learn2Rescue. The course involves three after school training sessions followed by students working in groups to deliver first aid workshops to students in the lower school. At the end of the course they will receive a certified first aid qualification.
Lauren Christie (Sky Studios Elstree) came to speak to our Year 8 students today about the huge range of opportunities and various career pathways in the creative industries associated with TV and film.
Today we were delighted to welcome three alumni students and an ex-parent of Yavneh College to run mock interviews for year 13 students who are considering applying for Apprenticeships.
We are so grateful to Daniel Garcia (Adler Shine), Guy Meyer (Civil Service), Daniel Gold (Civil Service) and Georgia Shaw (Atos) who volunteered to support our careers programme in this way.
