Today 36 Year 8 students worked as engineers racing against the clock to solve a real-life engineering problem from the Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management (IHEEM). Each of the 6 teams designed, planned, budgeted, problem solved, created and presented an item that they made from scratch, only using the materials they bought from the on-site shop!
All students taking part learnt many essential skills that they may take into any STEM career and have met the criteria for achieving a CREST Discovery Award and have received an Industrial Cadets Award. The winning team shone on their event logging and team work, and received an award for our school trophy cabinet as well as a £10 voucher each.
