Visit to Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge
As part of our Able, Gifted and Talented programme we were able to take fifteen year 10 students to visit to Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge University.
We were met by the university liaison officer and were given a short walking tour of Cambridge as well as a full tour of the college itself including the library. Students were then taken to the lecture theatre in the college and given a presentation about life at Cambridge University as well take part in a “building a language” activity, encouraging students to think creatively and independently.
Students were able to ask questions during the whole day and were able to get a real appreciation for college life as well as the demands of studying at the university. I hope students were inspired by the day and were motivated to work as hard as possible in order to give themselves the best possible chance at studying at Oxbridge.
